North Wales Hospital. An abandoned mental asylum in Denbigh. The Grade II listed building was designed by Thomas Full James and completed in 1848. Lobotomies were performed here and the asylum served as a self contained working village for mental patients of all sorts with 1,500 patients and 1,000 staff members living there at one time. It was finally closed in 1995 but is still guarded by a ruthless twat of a groundskeeper called Elwin who chased us out before we returned without cameras. Such a crazy place- 13.07.2014
